TTA Challenge 4

For this weeks TTA Challenge 4 I made a tag with shiny cream card and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Old Paper'.

I then added a broad band of cream organza and a piece of torn patterned paper. I added a La Blanche epoxy embellishment of a vintage lady and then added lace and flowers. I finished it off with ribbon, a brad and liquid pearls on the flowers.

I hope you like it? Oops forgot to mention I used faux stitching down the right hand side and at the top of the tag :)

Love

This is a simple card using Life's Journey script paper covering a plain white C6 card, I added some cream lace across the middle an SU 'love' stamp and a large brass heart embellishment. To finish off I chalked around the edge of the card.

Hope you like it?

Arty Girlz Challenge #30

This is a C6 white card covered with pink/green multi striped paper A green polka dot ribbon was added across the bottom and a K & Co tag with a Thank You rub on and green crossgrain ribbon, to finish it off I added a small K & Co flower.

Hope you like it x

Sunday Stampers - Green

This is my entry for the Sunday Stampers green theme.

I used a square white card and stamped a background text stamp (Judikins, Artists Signatures) in a darker green over green plain card. I cut out a square of darker green card and clipped the corners with a punch, I then stamped a Stampin' Up image onto it and embossed in black. I chalked the edges of the white card and added a piece of knotted green gingham ribbon to finish it off.

I hope you like it :)

Toppers, Tags & ATC's Challenge #1 - Birthdays

I've made a topper for the first challenge - 'Birthdays' at Toppers, Tags & ATC's new challenge blog.

I used K & Co. paper ripped and mounted it onto a lovely dark green shiny card which is distressed down one edge. I added lime green stretchy ribbon and knotted it, a white SU flower from the pretties kit and a K & Co. card flower with diamante on. The 'Birthday Wishes' is a clear sticker mounted onto some of the same green shiny card.

The shiny card has caused flashback on the card so the picture isn't very good I'm afraid...

Vintage

Another vintage card from me.

I used K & Co. paper, matted and layered my photograph then added lace, ribbon and the 'friendship' stamp from Stampin' Up. I then added a K & Co. button/flower brad.

Hope you like it?

Tag You're It Challenge #1 - Shades of Blue

This is my tag for the first challenge at Tag You're It - the challenge is 'Shades of Blue'.

I used a piece of shiny blue card and a corner punch then roughed up the edges with my SU tool. I then stamped the card with a Kodomo Inc stamp called Birds (one of my favourites) and embossed in white. I added a smaller tag and a with love sticker with some white and blue fibres. Lastly I added a bird brad.

Hope you like it?

Vintage

I love vintage designs and old looking papers and old photo's. I have wanted to use a hat pin (from the SU pretties kit) for a while and found a reason today, the flower is a brad from K & Co.

Hope you like it?

Arty Girlz Challenge #28

Here is my Triangle for the Arty Girlz Challenge

I used a piece of white card and stamped a Judikins text stamp in Tim Holtz distress ink 'old paper'. Then I overstamped with Stampington & Co.'s, Russian Beauty with Archival Brilliance Starlite Black. Added a flower and brad from SU Pretties Kit and some fibres with beads from the same kit.

Hope you like it :)

Apple in a Jar

I'm on a roll blogging two days on the trot...

A colleague at work is running a coffee morning/craft fair in May so I need to prepare some bits and pieces to take along and this morning I have made 12 of these.

They are called 'Apple in a Jar' and I pinched the idea of someone at a craft fair a few years back. They contain all of the ingredients and the method to make an apple pincushion ie., the fabric, filling and instructions.

They look a like this when they're done - I will need to make one up to take with me to show people. (This is not my picture by the way - I have borrowed it off Google).

Domino Keyring

I have been playing with domino's again today - I used a paper image of some fairies dancing on flowers on this one. I edged it with UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Powder) and then glazed it with Glossy Accents and a sprinkle of glitter. It's not brilliant but its a learning curve and I shall keep playing.

Had a little play with microscope slides this afternoon too but I've cut my finger on the glass and can't carry on it's too sore :( - if it works out I will hopefully blog it tomorrow...

Feeling Blue

I'm not really feeling blue but it appears that almost everything I have tried to create today has blue in it...

This is one of the new Little Cotton Rabbits stamps from
Funky Kits they were designed by Linda Andreu who also designs for Sugar Nellie but she got her inspiration from the gorgeous knitted rabbits made by Julie Williams - you can catch site of what she does on her Little Cotton Rabbits blog...

I stamped the image onto watercolour paper and painted it, used card from
Stampin' Up, inked the edges and added some hodgepodge hardware and ribbon...

This card was created using an image from Pink Petticoat it's the new Too Tweet download - it's only £1.99 for several images, you download it immediately too - well worth the pennies :)

I have matted and layered the image onto SU card stock and distressed the bottom edges with the SU distressing tool. I matted and layered a couple of papers to co-ordinate and added ribbon. The edges of the card have been chalked.
This card is basically using the same elements as the last one but I have used sticky backed cross grain ribbon and added a clear button with a co-ordinated piece of card behind it.

Signature

I have just found a website that will help you create your own signature http://www.mylivesignature.com/ for your blog then it's pretty easy to add too.

Settings, Formatting, Post Temple and add the code into that box...

Hoping to blog more this next month I can't believe it's more than a month since I posted :-/

Arty Girlz Challenge # 22

The Arty Girlz Challenge this week is to create something in 'green' - my card has K&Co paper (the flowery glittery bit) down one side and green ribbon dividing that and plain green card with 2 flowers and a half pearl attached.

The embellishment is using stampbord and was inked with Tim Holtz inks then stamped with black Stazon... Small pieces of the stamp i.e., leaves and windows were then etched out using a scalpel like tool.

I hope you like the result...

Challenge Sunday!

I have been working on Challenges for different sites today...

I am part (1/5th actually) of the newly created team 'Buttons & Bows' over on Aunty's Forum and have been busy making a painted challenge card and altered matchbox.

Here is our new signature logo for 'Buttons & Bows' made by the talented Jo from Siggy Shop.

The challenge for February is for our art pieces to have paint on it. This is my first attempt at using a Tilda stamp and I have stamped her onto watercoloured paper and painted her. I matted and layered different papers and inked the edges added false stitching and stamped a small Stampin' Up verse.

The flowers were pure white until I got my mitts on them and played aroundwith the watercolour paints on them to make them look antiqued well actually they look more dirty and distressed!

Photobucket

Next is my favourite bit, this is for a special challenge for the Button & Bows Team and the other teams over at Auntys Forum and it is to alter a matchbox - I really enjoyed doing this...

I have altered a small matchbox by covering it in K& Co. Life's Journey paper and sanding all the edges and covering in chalk to give it an aged look. I added some ribbon and a metal tag with string, some half pearls to the bottom to look like feet and a diamante brad to look like a handle...

The inside of the matchbox is covered in Life's Journey stripey paper and I added a K & Co. 3D sticker with 2 small white flowers.

I will put another section in with my Arty Girlz Challenge card :)

Arty Girlz Challenge # 21

Well here goes ladies - my contribution to the Arty Girlz Challenge this week...

Hope you like it x

I made this card using a DL sized card, I covered the card in some patterned paper and matted and layered a stamped daisy image to green paper with a contrasting green stamp pad.

The stamp has two images (the way you see it at the top and then in reverse).

Then using a piece of stampbord I inked it with Tim Holtz inks and when dry stamped the reverse image with black stazon. Using a scalpel like tool I scratched out some shadowing on the image.

I then glazed it with crackle glaze and mounted over a piece of cross grain ribbon.

I'm quite pleased with the result and will use it again for other projects.

Here is a close up of the stampbord accent...

Blog Header!

Look at my blog header isn't it just fantastic...

It's all thanks to Jo from
Siggi Shop - she is so talented - I think she can read minds *giggle*

Thanks Jo, I love it xxx

Stampin Up

Well I've been a naughty girl and ordered some SU stamps last night - I shouldn't of but I qualified for a freebie stamp set and £15 worth of free goods to go with them so how could I resist...

Now I need to get rid of some stash to make way for new - think that the Cricut may have to go this time - I've only used it three times - I think after all these years I've finally discovered that my passion lies with stamping and not gadgets...

I've been having a read of the Arty Girlz blog this afternoon and I think I'm still in time for the challenge this week so I'm off to do some stamping now...

I'll be back later with the results :)

Valentines Day

This is my first ever blog and with a little help from my friend Julie at Auntys Form I think I may have managed it...

Not sure about the name so that may change...

I have just discovered the wonderful Tilda stamps - I'll hopefully have some pics of cards on very soon...
